About the Galapagos and its population of horses
Horses are an introduced species to the Galapagos. They were brought by people to the islands in the early 20th century. As they only populate 3 percent of the island, we feel it is our mission to help humans connect with these horses and find the best outcome for their survival, and their interaction with the Galapagos ecosystem.
Learn about why there are horses on the Galapagos, what area they live in, what purpose they have served and where they are at now.
